Baltic Cruise

aboard the Sky Princess

Tour Highlights

Scandinavia, Russia and Berlin
Plus an overnight and tour in Copenhagen
This fascinating cruise, which begins and ends in Copenhagen (with an overnight and tour after the cruise), allows us to visit some of Northern Europe’s most wonderful cities, and marvel at some of the pristine beauty of this region.  We see  Scandinavia from its Viking past to modern day charm (in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland), other wonderful European ports of call (Berlin and Estonia), and two full days in St. Petersburg to marvel at the grandeur of Czarist Russia.

We will sail aboard the Sky Princess, a floating resort with all the amenities of a resort hotel, and a perfect balance of tradition and innovation. Princess’ award-winning shore excursions and fascinating onboard programs bring the culture and colours of the Baltic countries to life. Let Princess introduce you to the next port on the horizon like no one else can.

Dining aboard a Princess ship is a joyful celebration in the truest sense with every dish “designed for fresh” and crafted to exceed any kind of appetite. From hand-tossed pizza to dazzling multi-course gourmet dinners, you will enjoy freshly prepared cuisine that celebrates the history of the Baltic region.

As for entertainment, dazzling stage sets, international performers, modern hits, timeless classics and lavish productions are all the order of the day in the state-of-the-art Princess theatres!

* All shore excursions are optional and may be purchased in advance on Princess Cruises’ website or on board the ship.

Tentative Itinerary

We depart on our direct non-stop flight for Copenhagen (from Toronto).
We arrive in Copenhagen and transfer to our ship. Enjoy your first delicious dinner on board tonight.
Norway’s capital has a lovely setting at the head of the Oslofjord, with many wooded islands and a unique maritime heritage. Optional excursions will be offered to see the Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress. Or, you may want to visit the Vigeland Sculpture Park that depicts life from infancy to old age. Also worth a visit is the Viking Ship or the Holmenkollen Ski Jump.
A wonderful day at sea to relax and take in the passing seascapes. Perhaps see a movie or join in one of the many activities.
We dock at the spa town of Warnemunde, from where you may join an optional excursion to Berlin. Excursions will be offered to see Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, which once served as Germany's parliament, and Potsdam Square where the Berlin Wall once stood. Berlin's lovely old historic centre is perfect for strolling.
An optional excursion will show you this ancient Hanseatic capital city with its many architectural and historic monuments, mainly in the old town centre which is dominated by the soaring steeple of the Medieval Town Hall. From Toompea Castle there are superb views of the narrow streets, gabled roofs, towers and spires.
We arrive early in the morning for our two day visit in this splendid city. The city is a canal-laced masterpiece with charming townhouses, parks, gardens and wide, tree-lined avenues. The architectural splendour can be seen in the unusual Rostral columns in Pushkin Square, the Tsars’ Summer Palace and the fortress of Peter and Paul. The former Winter Palace now forms part of the Hermitage Museum which houses one of the finest collections of art and antiques in the world. The Cathedral of St. Isaac of Kiev is also filled with wonderful collections of art, sculptures and icons. Optional excursions offer an overview of the city’s monuments and churches.
This morning we arrive at this “White City of the North” so called for its striking, modern light coloured buildings. The city is, however, more than 400 years old. There are many parks filled with beautiful sculptures, historic sites and buildings such as Parliament House, Market Square with its famous statue of the Maid of Helsinki rising from the sea, the extraordinary Temppeliaukio Church blasted from solid rock, the beautiful Finlandia Concert Hall and the old town.
This stylish capital is set on a cluster of islands with a dazzling display of churches, palaces and museums and a wealth of historical and architectural monuments. The old town centre is dominated by the soaring steeple of the Town Hall, the oldest in Europe.
After all of the sightseeing that we’ve enjoyed, a relaxing day at sea will be most welcome.
We disembark this morning in Copenhagen and begin our included city tour. Copenhagen’s nickname is the “Venice of the North’, as it is built on a series of islands and laced with graceful canals. Highlights include Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid, Christiansborg Palace, Thorvaldsen’s Museum, Tivoli Gardens, the Royal Theatre, Amalienborg Palace and much more. We finish at our centrally located hotel. There will be time at leisure before our Farewell Dinner.
We transfer to the airport for our non-stop direct flight to Toronto.
