British Isles and Ireland Cruise

United Kingdom (Aboard the Emerald Princess plus an overnight & tour in London)
Signature storybook castles, historical treasures, sweeping landscapes, iconic cities and welcoming shores, the British Isles are steeped in lore. 
In Scotland we will see the awesome rugged landscapes, lochs and small stone villages. In Ireland we will admire the grand cliffs, tiny villages and the hills of 50 shades of green. We will also dock in some of the most charming ports in France and the Channel Islands. 

We will sail aboard the Emerald Princess, which features all the amenities of a Deluxe resort hotel, award-winning shore excursions and fascinating onboard programs that will bring the culture and colours of the British Isles to life.    
For dining, we will enjoy freshly prepared cuisine that celebrates the history of the British Isles. Entertainment is varied and endless, and includes Broadway style shows, first-run movies, dancing and the casino.

After our cruise we will overnight at a hotel in central London, with dinner, breakfast and a panoramic city tour included.

Itinerary / Excursions

We depart for London.
We arrive in London and transfer to Southampton where we board our ship. This evening is our first delicious dinner onboard.
The Channel Islands are exceptionally picturesque and also have a fascinating history. We disembark at the historic fortress of St. Peters Port - a lovely town in which to stroll. You may want to visit The Little Chapel of Guernsey - a charming old church decorated with pebbles, seashells and broken china.
Today we will have a chance to kiss the famous Blarney Stone, and then stroll along Cork’s lively pedestrian shopping street. Optional tours will be offered to see some of Ireland’s other remarkable landmarks, as well as the wonderful green countryside.
A full day to explore the charms of Dublin, Ireland’s capital city. Walk around the beautiful 18th century Georgian Squares and houses, the 12th century St. Patrick's Cathedral and Leister House (the Irish parliament).
Northern Ireland’s capital is a beautiful city of imposing Victorian architecture set within picturesque hills. See the grand City Hall, Opera House, the Stormont Parliament Buildings and beautiful parks. You may also want to go visit the Giant’s Causeway - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Not only is this fascinating old English city famous for the Beatles venues such as the Cavern Club, Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields, but it also boasts the finest collection of Victorian mercantile architecture and monuments, such that the waterfront is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. An optional tour will be offered to see the stunning countryside of North Wales.
There are many attractions to see in and around this great city, including the gothic Glasgow Cathedral, Inverary Castle and the cottage of poet Robert Burns.
Those on the May cruise will spend the day enjoying the many attractions in Scotland’s Cultural Capital. Those on the August cruise will enjoy a 2nd day here. An optional tour will be offered to the glorious highlands to see the mountains and heather.
A welcome day of rest following many days of sightseeing.
This chain of 70 islands offers dramatic landscapes including sea cliffs rising 1000 ft. above the waves, and sweeping white sand beaches. The islands boast the greatest concentration of prehistoric sights in all of Europe, including the mysterious Ring of Brodgar and 5,000 year old Skara Brae.
Welcome to the capital of the Scottish Highlands - gateway to Loch Ness, where we will enjoy the history, beauty and the legends of the Highlands. You may choose to go and see the ruins of the Dunrobin and Urquhart Castles, or go shopping for tartans and tweeds. Perhaps an optional tour to Loch Ness and the opportunity to look for Nessie. Have your camera ready in case you have a sighting!
There is so much to see in Scotland’s beautiful capital. You will want to visit Edinburgh Castle which dominates the city,and climb to the top for wonderful views. History comes alive along Princes Street and the Royal Mile, and the parks and gardens provide a lovely setting in which to stroll.
A day to relax, watch the passing seascape and enjoy the endless array of activities and entertainment onboard our ship.
The beaches of Normandy are home to many World War Two landmarks. You will have an opportunity to visit them, or join an optional tour to Paris.
We disembark in the morning in Southampton and proceed to London for a panoramic sightseeing tour. Highlights include Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Big Ben, the Tower of London, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Canadian War Memorial and much more. Our tour finishes at our centrally located hotel where we will have some time at leisure before dinner.
We fly from London back to Canada.
