Any traveller who has been to Costa Rica considers this amazing Central American country to be a true paradise on earth. This is a place where you can see Blue Morpho butterflies resting in the trees, comical capuchin monkeys chattering amongst themselves and scarlet macaws gracefully soaring along their flight path.

Then we travel to Arenal with its dramatic volcano, and stay 4 nights at the beautiful Arenal Manoa Hotel with its gorgeous series of natural thermal mineral pools. After Arenal we proceed to the province of Guanacaste for a 7-night stay. Itinerary / Excursions

We depart for San Jose, and upon arrival we transfer to our hotel.
This morning we see the historical monuments, museums and parks of San Jose, including the commercial district, Metropolitan Cathedral, National Theatre (an historical landmark) and the university campus. Then, since coffee is the country's main export, we learn about its production in an entertaining way - through a multi-medium, interactive tour. Of course we will have an opportunity to taste Costa Rica’s finest blends. Lunch is included. This evening is our Welcome Dinner.
Today’s tour takes us to the highest volcano in the country. The huge crater at Irazu is surrounded by a moonscape and has a small lagoon at the bottom. From the top you can enjoy the wonderful view over the forest of Braulio Carrillo National Park and the Caribbean coast. Later we visit the Orosi Valley, which offers some of the richest scenery in Costa Rica - a landscape of rolling hills terraced with shade-grown coffee plantations, and expansive valleys dotted with pastoral villages. We will stop in the town of Orosi and see the oldest church in Costa Rica.
We transfer by coach to Arenal. En route we will visit the town of Sarchi - a well-known craft centre where we can see the artisans at work. The local church is one of the prettiest in the country.
This morning we will experience the rainforest from the truly unique perspective of the sky walk – a spectacular combination of suspension bridges situated 30 meters off the ground, and pathways through the rainforest. In the afternoon we have the opportunity to rejuvenate in the thermal mineral pools, surrounded by lush vegetation.
A day at leisure to enjoy the hotel’s hot springs or to spend time in the town of La Fortuna. Your Tour Manager will be on hand to offer suggestions.
A very scenic day as we head out to the lush countryside and take a leisurely cruise on the Sarapiqui River. While one can enjoy the glorious scenery on these trips, the emphasis is on observing animals and birds in the trees and on the riverbank. You might see howler monkeys, sloths, caimans, river otters and a variety of birds. Our boatman/guide will be spotting for us and you will be amazed at how quickly you can spot them too. Be sure to bring your binoculars and camera. Lunch is included.
We proceed to the coast for a 7-night stay at our all-inclusive resort.
A day at leisure to enjoy the sun and sand, or an optional tour offered by the hotel.
Today we visit one of the most important National Parks in Costa Rica - Palo Verde. The park has at least 12 different habitats including mangroves, swamps, swamp forests, marshes and saltwater and freshwater lagoons. Included will be a boat tour on the Tempisque River to enjoy the fabulous array of wild birds and a myriad of creatures such as howler monkers, green iguanas, crocodiles and many more.
A day at leisure to enjoy the sunshine and resort facilities.
Today we enjoy a cruise along the Guanacaste coastline. We’ll sip on cocktails en route to a secluded bay where we enjoy an island picnic lunch and a swim, before returning to our hotel.
At leisure to enjoy the beach, resort facilities or one of many optional sightseeing tours offered by the hotel. The last evening will be our Farewell Dinner.
We transfer to the airport for our flight home.
