First Class London Show Tour

Britain, England

Tour Highlights

Join us on this visit to Old London Town, (Theatre Capital of the World), to take in some of the top shows, visit your favourite attractions or enjoy a stroll along the Thames.
As well as the meals and tours included in our itinerary, we have pre-booked excellent seats for three of the most popular shows in town, which tentatively include:

   1. Come From Away. This joyous musical shares the incredible real-life story of the 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were grounded in Newfoundland as a result of the attacks of 9/11, and the small town community that invited these ‘come from aways’ into their lives. As uneasiness turned into trust, gratitude grew into friendships and their stories became a celebration of hope and humanity. This Tony winning production guides audiences through a colourful and spirited cast of characters!
  2. Pretty Woman. This musical is based on the iconic film of the same name starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere (the film went on to become the highest grossing romantic comedy ever). The play tells the story of a Hollywood sex worker who is hired by a rich businessman to escort him to a number of events during his stay in the city. Through spending time together their relationship develops as they get to know each other better. The show will feature music by Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams!

   3. Your choice between 3 theatre productions! For your 3rd theatre night you will be given the choice between 3 of the hottest West End theatre offerings.

We will stay at the centrally located Park Plaza Waterloo (or similar). This First-Class hotel is situated on the south side of the River Thames, and boasts dramatic views of the river and the London skyline. It is within walking distance of some of the city’s most impressive landmarks such as the House of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye, etc. The hotel features stylishly modern furnishings with First Class facilities. All Superior guest rooms are air-conditioned with Flat screen TV, safe, coffee/tea facilities and complimentary WIFI. There is also access to a state-of-the-art fitness centre including an indoor pool, sauna and steam room.

Tentative Itinerary

We depart for London with Air Canada.
We arrive in London in the morning and transfer to our hotel. The balance of the day is free and this evening is our Welcome Dinner.
We begin with a visit and guided tour of Westminster Abbey. This large and impressive Gothic church was the traditional place of coronation and burial site for English monarchs. After our visit we continue to take in other major highlights – Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Canadian War Memorial and more.

This evening is our first night at the theatre
Our morning tour takes us first to the Royal Mews, which houses the horses and coaches of the Royal Transport (including the Gold State Coach which has been used at every coronation for the past 200 years). It is still one of the world’s finest working stables. Then we walk over to Buckingham Palace – the official residence of the Queen, serving as her London home and offices. We will see many of the magnificent staterooms in this working palace, used extensively by the Queen and members of her family to receive and entertain guests on State and ceremonial occasions. There will be time at leisure in the palace to enjoy the magnificence of the interior and its famous garden.
A day at leisure. There are countless attractions, museums and galleries in London to visit. Your Tour Manager will be on hand with suggestions.

This evening is our 2nd theatre night
We board one of the Rover riverboats at the London Eye for a leisurely cruise along the Thames to the Tower of London, noted as one of the world’s most famous fortresses. Originally founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, the ancient stones reverberate with dark secrets of the past. The Tower also houses the magnificent Crown regalia. After our guided tour the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. You may wish to further listen to the lively tales of the Beefeaters or visit the many exhibitions at the Tower. Your included Rover ticket is your all day travel pass which offers unlimited access to the city’s sightseeing riverboats. With the pass you can hop on and off the boats at any one of several piers and spend the day exploring the sights of the Thames all the way to Greenwich and back.
This morning we visit Windsor and the castle that has been "home" to English monarchs for almost 1,000 years. It is said to be the Queen's favourite residence. We also pass by Runnymede - site of the signing of the Magna Carta, and stop at the R.A.F. Memorial, overlooking scenic countryside.
Another day to explore London on your own.
This evening is our final theatre night.
Today we harken back to the days of the dramatic world of Elizabethan London with a visit to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in Bankside - an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the tales and history of the 16th theatre experience. After our visit, we head over to Covent Garden. Through the years it has evolved to be one of the liveliest districts in London, (originally called “Convent Garden” as it was the vegetable garden of the monks of Westminster Abbey), with stylish shops, market stalls, cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs, as well as all kinds of buskers (street entertainers). This evening is our Farewell Dinner.
We fly home with Air Canada.
