First Class London Show Tour

Join us on this visit to Old London Town, (Theatre Capital of the World), to take in some of the top shows, visit your favourite attractions or stroll along the Thames.
Aside from the meals and tours included in our itinerary, we have pre-booked excellent seats for three of the most popular shows in town, which tentatively include:

 1.  Pretty Woman. This musical is based on the iconic film of the same name starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, which went on to become the highest grossing romantic comedy ever. It tells the story of a Hollywood sex worker who is hired by a rich businessman to escort him to a number of events during his stay in the city, and the development of their relationship as they get to know each other better. The show will feature music by Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams!

2. The Great Gatsby. Immerse yourself in this adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s tale of the Roaring Twenties, as Jay Gatsby invites you to one of his infamous large parties. Let the champagne flow and the drama unfold in front of you in this hedonistic world of bootleg liquor and jazz age self-indulgence. Produced by Alexander Wright, this Olivier Award winning show is London’s longest running immersive theatrical production.

3. Your choice between 3 theatre productions! For your 3rd theatre night you will be given the choice between 3 of the hottest West End theatre offerings. We will stay at the centrally located Park Plaza Waterloo (or similar). This First-Class hotel is situated on the south side of the River Thames, and boasts dramatic views of the river and the London skyline. It is within walking distance of some of the city’s most impressive landmarks such as the House of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye, etc. The hotel features stylishly modern furnishings with First Class facilities. All Superior guest rooms are air-conditioned with Flat screen TV, safe, coffee/tea facilities and complimentary WIFI. There is also access to a state-of-the-art fitness centre including an indoor pool, sauna and steam room.

Itinerary / Excursions

We depart for London with Air Canada.
We arrive in London in the morning and transfer to our hotel. There will be an orientation walking tour around the area, with some free time before this evening’s Welcome Dinner.
London is bursting with centuries-old landmarks. Today’s full-day tour will be by both coach and walking to take in the major highlights: Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge and the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, along with visits to Westminster Abbey and the Canadian War Memorial.

This evening is our first night at the theatre!
A day to enjoy this grand city!  There are countless attractions, museums and galleries in London.  Your Tour Manager will be on hand with suggestions!
Our full day excursion takes us through the quintessential English countryside to Stratford-Upon-Avon, home of William Shakespeare. Highlights of our guided walking tour will include Anne Hathaway’s cottage and garden, a Tudor Schoolmaster lesson in the room that Shakespeare was educated, and a Tour and Tasting at the local Gin Distillery.
We visit Windsor and the castle that has been “home” to English monarchs for 1,000 years.  It is said to be the Queen’s favourite residence.  We will also stop at the R.A.F. Memorial, overlooking scenic countryside, and pass by the location of the signing of the “Magna Carta” – issued in 1215 it was the first document to put into writing the principle that the king and his government were not above the law.

This evening is our 2nd theatre night!
We visit Bath, known for its hot spring waters and the 18th century honey-coloured Georgian terraces with their elegant crescents.  Our guided walking tour shows us Jane Austin’s home, the Avon River, Bath Abbey and more.  We’ll visit the magnificent Roman Baths, built by the Romans nearly 2000 years ago. After, we’ll enjoy a sumptuous “Afternoon Tea” (an interpretation of the ritual that began in the 1800s) in The Pump Room – the social heart of Bath for more than two centuries with famous patrons like Jane Austen and Charles Dickens.
Our visit to Covent Garden today takes us to an area that through the years has evolved into one of the liveliest districts in London.  Originally a vegetable garden for the monks of Westminster Abbey, today Covent Garden houses stylish shops, market stalls, cafes, bars, restaurants and even a “Canadian” pub close by along with all kinds of buskers (street entertainers).  We’ll visit the “Actors Church” - so called as it contains memorials dedicated to many famous theatrical personalities: Charlie Chaplin, Noel Coward, Vivien Leigh and more. It was also here that George Bernard Shaw set “Pygmalion” - the basis for the movie “My Fair Lady”, right under the Portico!

This evening is our final theatre night!
A day of leisure to do your own thing in London. Prior to our Farewell Dinner this evening, we’ll step aboard the magnificent London Eye, which offers a truly captivating and unparalleled view of London - a perfect “Farewell” to the city!
It’s “Cheerio’ as we fly home with Air Canada.
