Holiday Season Caribbean Cruise

aboard the Island Princess
There’s no better way to to celebrate the Holiday Season than cruising in the Caribbean Sea.
Princess Cruises knows how to celebrate, with its festively decorated Atrium, a host of holiday events, festive onboard activities, a traditional Christmas dinner and a festive New Years countdown party.

While we’re enjoying the joyous holiday atmosphere on board our ship in the evenings, during the day we’ll be soaking up the sun, digging our toes in the white sand beaches, and exploring some of the most interesting ports-of-call in the Caribbean. This region boasts quaint towns alive with diverse cultures, with the breathtaking backdrop of swaying palm trees, powdery sand and turquoise waters. Highlights of this cruise include Harrison’s Cave in Barbados, Marine Park in Bonaire, the black sand beaches and stunning waterfalls of St. Vincent, calypso music in Trinidad & Tobago, duty-free shopping in St. Thomas and the rainforests of St. Kitts and Martinique.

We will sail aboard the Island Princess - a floating resort with all the amenities of a resort hotel, and a perfect balance of tradition and innovation. Princess’ award-winning shore excursions and fascinating onboard programs bring the culture of this region to life, while  talented chefs will take you on a culinary journey.

As for evening entertainment, take in some of the finest cruise ship productions anywhere at sea, with lavish Broadway shows complete with dazzling stage sets and international performers in the state-of-the-art theatres!

* All shore excursions are optional, and may be purchased in advance on Princess Cruises’ website, or onboard the ship.

Itinerary / Excursions

We fly to Fort Lauderdale and upon arrival transfer to our cruise ship, the Island Princess. This evening we enjoy our first delicious dinner on board.
Time to relax, get acquainted with the ship and enjoy the endless array of facilities, activities, and entertainment. Visit the health club for a workout or beauty treatment, join an exercise class, line dancing or perhaps wine tasting.
This small island is surrounded by a series of jagged bays, inlets and coves with miles of sandy beaches and green mountains. Enjoy exploring the colourful waterfront and cobbled streets with outstanding duty-free shopping in the lovely capital of Charlotte Amalie. This evening we enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner, with all the trimmings, prepared by Princess’ own expert chefs.
With so much natural beauty, it’s no wonder the English defended the “Gibraltar of the West Indies” from Brimstone Hill. Take it all in – from Piccadilly Circus and an island version of Big Ben to the pink salt pond, the lush gardens and rain forests.
Martinique is truly ''a little bit of France in the Caribbean." It exudes a distinctly French ambiance and the natural beauty is everywhere with pristine white sand beaches and spectacular scenery. Visit the Balata Botanical Garden, and see hibiscus, anthuriums, orchids and other exotic flora.
With its picturesque rolling hills and endless expanse of white sand beaches, Barbados is the quintessential island getaway and a long time favourite of Canadians. Investigate Harrison’s Cave, with its bubbling streams, cascading waterfalls, stalactites and stalagmites. Or you may want to taste the island’s famous rum at the Mount Gay Rum Factory.
Famous for its natural beauty, this island boasts an impressive volcano, black sand beaches and stunning waterfalls. Visit the St. Vincent Botanical Garden - one of the oldest in the Western Hemisphere.
Trinidad is the birthplace of steel pan and calypso music. There is plenty to see here. The Asa Wright Nature Center is devoted to naturalists and bird watchers. The more traditional tourist attractions are the Queen's Park Savannah, the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Magnificent Seven - a strand of impressive colonial houses reflecting Trinidad's unique heritage.
Following all of the excitement and sightseeing of the past week, a day at leisure to enjoy the ship’s facilties will be most welcome.  This evening we enjoy a gala New Year’s Eve Countdown Party.
Colourful Willemstad is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most recognizable spots in the Caribbean. While the shops in town offer great bargains, there is also an array of pristine beaches as well as the fascinating Hato Caves.
Although this unique Dutch island has blossomed as a sophisticated Caribbean destination, the real attraction is under water. Aruba is surrounded by colourful coral. The abundant sea life around Arashi Reef or the wreck of the Antilla is simply breathtaking. If you would rather stay dry, view it all by taking an excursion from the air conditioned comfort of an Atlantis submarine or a glass bottom boat.
We disembark the ship at Fort Lauderdale and transfer to the airport for our flight home.
