First Class London Show Tour

England, United Kingdom
Join us on this visit to Old London Town, (Theatre Capital of the World), to take in some of the top shows, visit your favourite attractions or stroll along the Thames.
As well as the meals and tours included in our itinerary, we have pre-booked excellent seats for three of the most popular shows in town, which tentatively include:
1. Sister Act. Whoopi Goldberg, will once again play Deloris (a new and improved Deloris) from the iconic 1992 film of the same name. If you haven’t seen this hilarious film yet, let’s recap. Now set in 2021, disco diva Deloris’ world takes a drastic turn when she is witness to a murder! Taken into witness protection and disguised as a nun, they’re sure no one will find this songster at a convent. This production is a hilarious, heart-warming and fabulous tribute to the beauty of friendship, sisterhood and music.
  2. Cinderella (by Andrew Lloyd Webber). Time to whip out those glass slippers, ‘cause Cinderella’s a-comin’! A fresh new musical adaptation on the classic fairytale by none other than musical theatre magnate and genius Andrew Lloyd Webber.
  3. Your choice between 3 theatre productions! For your 3rd theatre night you will be given the choice between 3 of the hottest West End theatre offerings.

We will stay at the centrally located Park Plaza Waterloo (or similar). This First-Class hotel is situated on the south side of the River Thames, and boasts dramatic views of the river and the London skyline. It is within walking distance of some of the city’s most impressive landmarks such as the House of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye, etc. The hotel features stylishly modern furnishings with First Class facilities. All Superior guest rooms are air-conditioned with Flat screen TV, safe, coffee/tea facilities and complimentary WIFI. There is also access to a state-of-the-art fitness centre including an indoor pool, sauna and steam room.

Itinerary / Excursions

We depart for London with Air Canada.
We arrive in London in the morning and transfer to our hotel. There will be an orientation walking tour around the area, with some free time before this evening’s Welcome Dinner.
London is bursting with centuries-old landmarks. Today’s full-day tour will be by both coach and walking to take in the major highlights: Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, the Canadian War Memorial and more. This evening is our first night at the theatre.
Our morning tour takes us first to the Royal Mews, which houses the horses and coaches of the Royal Transport (including the Gold State Coach which has been used at every coronation for the past 200 years). It is still one of the world’s finest working stables. Then we walk over to Buckingham Palace – the official residence of the Queen, serving as her London home and offices. We will see many of the magnificent staterooms in this working palace, used extensively by the Queen and members of her family to receive and entertain guests on State and ceremonial occasions. There will be time at leisure in the palace to enjoy the magnificence of the interior, perhaps enjoy a spot of tea and visit the Royal Shop rich with memorabilia.
Today we cruise along the Thames to glorious Greenwich - a marvelous maritime village with both naval and royal histories! Upon arrival we see the oldest surviving tea clipper in the world - the Cutty Sark, and the Old Royal Naval College - a grand Classical Baroque building. Our walking tour includes the stunning Painted Hall, known as the “Sistine Chapel of Britain”. Once a dining room for Britain’s most posh pensioners’ home, it is where the great naval hero Lord Nelson lays in state. We will finish with a stroll through the oldest Royal Park in London and visit the place from where the world bases its time - the 17th century Royal Observatory, home to the Prime Meridian Line which offers a spectacular view before returning to central London. This evening is our 2nd theatre night.
A day at leisure. There are countless attractions, museums and galleries in London to visit. Your Tour Manager will be on hand with suggestions.
We board one of the Rover riverboats at the London Eye for a leisurely cruise along the Thames to the Tower of London, noted as one of the world’s most famous fortresses. Originally founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, the ancient stones reverberate with dark secrets of the past. The Tower also houses the magnificent Crown regalia. After our guided tour the rest of the afternoon is at leisure. You may wish to further listen to the lively tales of the Beefeaters or visit the many exhibitions at the Tower. Your included Rover ticket is your all day travel pass which offers unlimited access to the city’s sightseeing riverboats. With the pass you can hop on and off the boats at any one of several piers and spend the day exploring the sights of the Thames all the way to Greenwich and back.
This morning we visit Windsor and the castle that has been "home" to English monarchs for almost 1,000 years. It is said to be the Queen's favourite residence. We also pass by Runnymede - site of the signing of the Magna Carta, and stop at the R.A.F. Memorial, overlooking scenic countryside. This evening is our final theatre night.
Today we harken back to the days of the dramatic world of Elizabethan London with a visit to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in Bankside - an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the tales and history of the 16th theatre experience. After our visit, we head over to Covent Garden. Through the years it has evolved to be one of the liveliest districts in London, (originally called “Convent Garden” as it was the vegetable garden of the monks of Westminster Abbey), with stylish shops, market stalls, cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs, as well as all kinds of buskers (street entertainers). Prior to our Farewell Dinner this evening we will board the London Eye for a stunning Goodbye view!
We fly home with Air Canada.
