Monterrey, Mexico

Special Value Resort Holiday

Tour Highlights

The Mexican city of Monterrey is surrounded by majestic mountains, and is full of museums, unique galleries, bustling markets, elegant cathedrals and regal palaces.
Although it is a large city, it is one of Mexico’s most pleasant for strolling, with lovely pedestrian-only areas surrounded by plazas, gardens, public art, shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Our hotel for this Special Value relaxing holiday is the Bahia Escondida Resort, located south of Monterrey nestled between the Sierra Madre Mountains and La Boca Lake. The resort is spread over 12 acres and surrounded by lush vegetation.  The historic village of Santiago is nearby, and the shopping there includes a colourful arts and crafts market. The resort has a large outdoor pool, an indoor pool and jacuzzi. There is a main restaurant, bar, tennis and squash courts, as well as a fitness centre with sauna and steam room.

An activity programme has been arranged for us during our stay and includes guided walks, aqua aerobics, gentle fitness (stretching), Spanish lessons, Mexican cooking lessons, handicrafts, pool tournaments, table games, tennis lessons (equipment provided) and cocktail making. Evening entertainment includes live music, folkloric shows, movies, card evenings, talks on Mexican history and the local region, quiz nights and talent shows.

Our spacious studio suites are comfortably furnished and equipped with a small kitchenette that includes a stovetop, toaster, coffee maker, microwave and fridge. All guestrooms have two beds and a balcony.  Complimentary WiFi is available in guest rooms, at the Front Reception and in the Convention Centre.

Please note that the resort is set in the hills and there are several ascents and descents around the property with many steps. The guest rooms are all in 3-story buildings, and there are no elevators (most of our rooms will be on the ground floor or 2nd level). Due to the resort’s size and hilly terrain there are vans available to shuttle you from one area to another within the resort (on request).
