With spectacular coastlines, picturesque villages and distinguished culture, the Maritimes are sure to delight every visitor.
We begin this tour In Nova Scotia, where we visit the famous lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, the Fisheries Museum in Lunenburg and the historic Fortress of Louisburg. During our stay in the capital of Halifax we will be entertained at the Grafton Street Dinner Theatre, see the Exhibition Hall at Pier 21 and have a chance to sample the local beer during our tour of Alexander Keith's Brewery!
In St. John, New Brunswick we explore the historic Loyalist Trail, the remarkable Reversing Falls and the scenic Fundy Trail on the Bay of Fundy (which boasts some of the highest tides in the world).
Prince Edward Island, Canada's smallest province and home of Anne of Green Gables, is renowned for its red soil, sand dunes and 800 km. of spotless white sand beaches. During our visit to Charlottetown, our Confederation Capital, we learn the important role this province played in the early history of Canada. We will also enjoy a performance of “Anne of Green Gables” at the Confederation Theatre.
No trip to the Maritimes would be complete without a tour around the awe-inspiring Cabot Trail in scenic Cape Breton. The trail loops around the northern tip of Cape Breton Island, passing through charming communities offering breathtaking scenery.

Itinerary / Excursions
We fly to Halifax and transfer to our downtown hotel. The balance of the day is at your leisure.
On our city tour of Halifax our kilted guide will tell tales of the past, present and future of Nova Scotia's capital. We will walk through the Victorian Public Gardens and stop at the top of Citadel Hill to view the Harbour and downtown area. Afternoon at leisure. Our unique dinner this evening at the Grafton Street Theatre features a musical comedy!
Our first stop is at one of the most picturesque locations in the Maritimes, Peggy's Cove. This quaint, rustic cove is famous for its neat houses, barren rocks, weathered wharves and a lighthouse point that offers a sweeping view of the ocean. Then we proceed to Lunenburg, home of the Bluenose, where we visit the Fisheries Museum with its fine collection of Maritime artifacts. We continue on to the Annapolis Valley.
We travel along the historic Evangeline Trail and first stop at the Grand-Pré National Historic Site, made famous by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's poem, Evangeline. We then board the Fundy Rose ferry for a delightful cruise across the Bay of Fundy to the Loyalist City of Saint John.
This morning’s tour of Saint John includes the famous Loyalist Trail and the Reversing Falls, where the ocean waters rushing upstream form a whirling, foaming torrent. We spend the afternoon in the picturesque town of St. Andrew where you will have free time for lunch and shopping, then return to Saint John for our overnight.
Today we visit the impressive Hopewell Rocks. Take a moment to appreciate the intricacies of nature and explore the quiet coves with flowerpot-shaped rock formations bearing such names as “Mother-in-Law”, “ET” and “Lover's Arch”. We continue to Moncton for our overnight.
After a stop at Shediac, known as the "Lobster Capital of the World", we drive across the Confederation Bridge to P.E.I. and our hotel in Charlottetown. The rest of the afternoon is free. This evening we enjoy a musical performance of “Anne of Green Gables” at the Confederation Theatre.
Our guided tour of P.E.I. begins in Charlottetown and the historic Confederation Centre, where the Fathers of Confederation met during the Charlottetown Conference. Then we travel through the bright green rolling countryside and visit the home of Anne of Green Gables at Cavendish, and the famous wharf in North Rustico. Tonight we will enjoy a lobster dinner at a local restaurant (alternatives available).
We return to Nova Scotia by ferry and proceed to Baddeck, located in the heart of Cape Breton's most picturesque area. We visit the Bell Museum, where the famous inventor perfected his many inventions, and then proceed to Sydney for our overnight.
A full day tour of the scenic Cabot Trail. Nature lovers and photographers will have a field day with the meandering glens, rugged coastlines and the constantly pounding surf.
We proceed to the impressive Fortress of Louisbourg for a guided visit. This National Historic Site was the largest historic reconstruction in Canada. After our visit we will enjoy an evening banquet during which we will be entertained by 18th century style musicians who will share stories and songs about love and life in the 1700’s.
We return to Halifax.
This morning we visit Pier 21 - an exhibit recreating the immigration experience. Innovative displays, evocative soundscapes and interactive technology are used. We then enjoy an informative tour of Alexander Keith's Brewery - the oldest working brewery in North America. After we learn about the beer, the brewery and life in Halifax in 1863, we visit Stag's Head Tavern to listen to toe tapping music, and of course sample Keith's finest ale. The afternoon will be at leisure to explore on your own in Halifax - an excellent city for strolling. This evening is our Farewell Dinner.
We fly home with Air Canada.
