Tentative Itinerary

We depart for London.
We arrive in London and transfer to West Lulworth House for a 7-night stay. The hotel boasts a wonderful elevated location and spectacular views overlooking Lulworth Cove on the Jurassic Coast.
Our walk starts on the Isle of Purbeck, from Langton Matravers to Durlston Country Park by the Victorian seaside resort of Swanage, which offers great views towards the Isle of Wight. We will enjoy some free time in Swanage.
We walk down to the coast to explore the remains of the village of Tyneham - one of Britain’s ‘lost’ villages and one of the area’s hidden gems. We’ll then climb up an undulating ridge at a gentle pace to enjoy glorious sea views, finishing at the small village of Kimmeridge.
We take a day off from walking and visit one of Dorset’s top vineyards. English winemakers have enjoyed a renaissance in recent years and are now producing award-winning wines of regional character. Our guided tour will take us through the vineyard showing us the stages of producing world-class, traditional wines, followed by a tutored wine tasting.
Venturing along one of the chalk ridges, we take our time to enjoy the views which include the quaint hamlet of Church Knowles. Then we continue on to explore the charming village of Corfe Castle, which does indeed have a castle.
Today we explore the inland rural area of Dorset. We walk from Minterne Magna, near Dorchester, up on to a ridge with lovely views above the Cerne Valley, then down into Cerne Abbas village which sits below the famous Cerne Giant. After exploring this picturesque village we transfer to Max Gate - Thomas Hardy’s house, where he wrote many of his famous novels.
We start north of Lulworth Cove, walk down to the spectacular coastal path and follow it to the famous and much photographed Durdle Door rock arch. There will be time this afternoon to relax, maybe take a boat ride or visit Lulworth Castle.
Leaving Dorset we travel to England’s ancient capital, Winchester, which boasts many historical attractions. You may want to explore the magnificent Cathedral or the Medieval Halls which house the legendary King Arthur’s Round Table. You may also want to look for something unique or unusual in Winchester’s independent shops! Later we arrive in Dorking for a 4-night stay in our hotel located in the centre of this charming market town.
Brighton is a treasure trove for the visitor, offering both the energy of the city and freedom of the sea. Our walking tour will show us the stunning Royal Pavilion, Regency architecture, the ancient Lanes shopping area and the traditional seaside fun of the famous Brighton Pier. Enjoy some time at leisure here - one of the UKs most popular destinations.
It’s a joy to wander around Dorking and discover its arts and crafts shops, boutiques, art galleries, eclectic vintage shops and fabulous antique centres. Then relax in one of the many excellent cafes or pubs.
Polesden Lacey is an Edwardian house and estate, and is one of the National Trust's most popular properties. On our tour of the house we’ll see the collection of fine paintings, furniture, porcelain and silver. Then we venture to one of Britain’s top 10 vineyards, Greyfriars, which has combined traditional techniques with modern wine making technology to win numerous international accolades. We will enjoy vineyard tour and tutored wine tasting of several award-winning sparkling and still wines. Tonight we enjoy our Farewell Dinner and raise a glass to all the memorable experiences of this fabulous tour!
We transfer to Heathrow Airport for our flight home.
