South Africa is one of the world’s most beautiful countries, and we are sure you will agree after your first visit.  The incredible scenic beauty includes nearly 2,000 miles of beautiful coastline, snow capped mountains and tropical splendour. The magnificent National Parks and game reserves boast an unparalleled diversity of wild life. Other features that make this destination so desirable include a wonderful climate, ancient forts and historic monuments, tribal dancing, museums and art galleries. Above all, South Africa's hospitality is legendary.

In addition to our tour of South Africa’s highlights we will also visit Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) and safari in Chobe National Park (Botswana). Victoria Falls are the largest waterfalls in the world (they are three times as wide and twice as high as Niagara Falls), and the spray can be seen 20 miles away! Chobe National Park is world renowned for its splendid and unique variety of wildlife.

Itinerary / Excursions

Day 1: Depart

We depart for Johannesburg, via Dubai.

Day 2: Johannesburg

We arrive in Johannesburg in the late evening and transfer to our hotel.

Day 3: Victoria Falls

We fly to Victoria Falls and transfer to our lovely lodge hotel.

Day 4: Victoria Falls

We enjoy a morning tour of the Falls - a sight to behold! The afternoon is free, and there will be an opportunity to take an optional helicoptor flight over the falls. This evening we enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, and dinner will be a special African experience.

Day 5: Chobe

This morning we proceed to our safari lodge near Chobe National Park - home to a splendid variety of wildlife, including hippo and elephants that troll the river paths to drink. We take our first game cruise this afternoon.

Day 6: Chobe

On our morning game drive we enjoy the wonderful surroundings of wild Africa! In the afternoon we take a boat ride along the river and get up close with the bounty of Chobe as we view herds of kudu, waterbuck and possibly elephants coming to the river to drink.

Day 7: Johannesburg

We fly from Victoria Falls back to Johannesburg, and then proceed to our hotel en route to Kruger National Park.

Day 8: Kruger National Park Area

We proceed to Kruger National Park for wildlife viewing at its best! The park offers an experience in beauty, tranquility and variety not found anywhere else in the world. En route we visit the majestic Blyde River Canyon to see God’s Window and Bourke’s Luck Potholes - true natural wonders! Our hotel is located just outside the Park.

Day 9: Kruger National Park Area

A full day of game viewing in open safari vehicles. We start early in the morning, the best time to find the world's largest variety of wildlife including the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, leopard and buffalo), hippo, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and crocodile. The park is also home to more than 400 bird species.

Day 10: Kruger National Park Area

A morning at leisure to enjoy the various activities at the hotel. Relax by the pool, do some game or bird watching or take a nature walk. Later we depart for our evening game drive to see if we can catch some nocturnal animals in the spotlight.

Day 11: Johannesburg

We drive back to Johannesburg. This afternoon we visit the Apartheid Museum - the pre-eminent museum in the world dealing with 20th century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story.

Day 12: Soweto / Garden Route

We begin with an unforgettable tour of the township of Soweto, which sets the trends for South Africa in politics, fashion, music and dance. After our visit we will transfer to the airport for our flight to George, on South Africa's fabled Garden Route.

Day 13: Garden Route

We travel over the mountains to Oudtshoorn to visit an ostrich farm, followed by a visit of the Cango Caves, whose stalagmites and stalactites will leave a lasting impression.

Day 14: Garden Route

Today we visit a township near George, where we will have a chance to meet the children at a local primary school. Then we travel to Knysna and ferry over to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, dedicated to the protection of the local flora.

Day 15: Garden Route / Cape Town

Our Garden Route drive takes us along the coast, around lakes, mountains, golden beaches and cliffs - an enchanting drive with a romantic history. We arrive in Cape Town and take a cable car ride up Table Mountain for panoramic views.

Day 16: Cape Town

Our city tour shows us the Malay Quarter, the Botanical Gardens and more. In the afternoon we embark on a ferry ride and guided tour of the Robben Island Prison Museum (weather permitting) where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years.

Day 17: Cape Town

A Winelands tour through lovely scenery of vineyards, oak shaded rivers and old Dutch colonial homes. We enjoy a tasting in a wine cellar and lunch at a private estate. In Stellenbosch we visit the Village Museum.

Day 18: Cape Town

A full-day tour to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, where we see colonies of penguins in their natural environment. This evening is our Farewell Dinner.

Day 19: Departure

After a late breakfast at the hotel we transfer to the airport for our flight home, via Dubai.

Day 20: Home

Arrival back in Canada.
