This cruise and tour will appeal to the adventurous traveller who would like to visit some of South America’s most exciting cities, plus some of the less well known ports-of-call.
On the cruise we will enjoy wonderful scenery, fascinating towns and villages and the opportunity to try various activities such as river rafting, fishing and hiking. 

We will cruise in style and luxury aboard the Grand Class Coral Princess. The ships of Princess Cruises are among the most beautiful and hospitable, and have more of everything you would expect in a 5-star floating resort. Princess’ award-winning shore excursions and fascinating onboard programs will bring the cultures and colours of South America to life. Talented chefs will take you on a culinary journey, with freshly prepared and carefully crafted dishes that celebrate South America. 

Take in some of the finest cruise ship entertainment as the theatre lights up the top deck day or night with feature films, or watch a lavish Broadway production complete with dazzling stage sets and international performers in the state-of -the art Princess theatres! 

Aside from the cruise, our program includes a night in Buenos Aires - capital of Argentina, and a night in Santiago - capital of Chile, with touring in both cities.

Itinerary / Excursions

Day 1: Departure

We depart for Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Day 2: Buenos Aires: We arrive in Buenos Aires

This cosmopolitan city has wide boulevards, 19th century mansions, French colonial architecture and colourful traffic-free shopping areas. On our sightseeing tour we will see the major sights such as the Colon Theatre, the Cathedral, the main square - Plaza de Mayo and we will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral. Then we see the green area of Palermo with it’s parks and artificial lakes, and the Recoleta area with its many elegant boutiques and restaurants. The grave of Eva Peron is located in the cemetery of Recoleta. This evening is our Welcome Dinner.

Day 3: Buenos Aires / Embarkation: We embark our cruise ship, the Coral Princess

Take an optional excursion cruise to the Tigre Delta, with its thousands of islands in a vast network of inlets, channels, rivers and backwaters. This evening we enjoy our first delicious dinner onboard. Our ship overnights here so there is plenty of time to enjoy the city’s unusual sights.

Day 4: Buenos Aires

 Another day to enjoy the city, take an optional tour or enjoy the activities on board our ship

Day 5: Montevideo, Uruguay

Uruguay’s charming capital overlooks the River Plata and has plenty of unique architecture, parks and monuments. The waterfront promenade is a great place to stroll and people watch.

Day 6: At Sea

Day 7: Puerto Madryn, Argentina

Puerto Madryn is known today for its animal life, which Argentina protects in this scenic, remote wildlife preserve. Puerto Madryn is also the gateway to Punta Tombo National Reserve and Argentine Patagonia – a small city that serves as a base for exploring the remote wildlife preserves.

Day 8: At Sea

Day 9: Stanley, Falkland Islands

The capital of the Falkland Islands is very British. Here you can visit a penguin rookery, learn of the island’s tumultuous past at the Britannia House Museum or enjoy a pint at a local pub.

Day 10: Cape Horn Scenic Cruising

Today we round the southern tip of South America. You will be awestruck by the rugged beauty and imposing vision of Cape Horn – a massive rocky point that was the bane of early explorers.

Day 11: Ushuaia (Tierra Del Fuego), Argentina

Ushuaia is the southern-most town in the world, and is located on the island territory of Tierra del Fuego. “The Land of Fire” features unforgettable scenery and trails of discovery.

Day 12: Punta Arenas, Chile

Punta Arenas is the hub for many adventures – penguin colonies, Antarctica and Patagonia to name a few. Explore the city’s sights or visit a living museum dedicated to the sheep ranchers who settled Patagonia.

Day 13: Amalia Glacier, Chile (Scenic Cruising)

Located in the central part of the Southern Patagonia Ice Fields, the Amalia Glacier descends from the Andes Mountains and towers above the sea. The Amalia’s mammoth blue mountain of ice is constantly changing. You can frequently spot dolphins swimming by the ships.

Day 14: At Sea

Day 15: Puerto Montt, Chile

Puerto Montt is the gateway to Patagonia, and there is much to see here. Optional tours include the breathtaking scenery of Patagonia’s Lake District and snow-covered Osorno Volcano.

Day 16: At Sea

Day 17: Santiago, Chile / Disembarkation

We disembark our ship and proceed on our Santiago city tour. We pass by the Chilean University, San Francisco Church, the Cathedral, the Plaza des Armas and Santa Lucia Hill. Then we ascend San Cristobal Hill for a fine view of the Andes Mountains. The afternoon is at leisure.

Day 18: Santiago

This morning we will visit Santa Rita Winery, founded in 1880. We will tour the winery, learn about wine production, enjoy a tasting and then have lunch at the winery. On the return to Santiago, we will visit the Alto Jahuel Andean Museum to see pre-Colombian artifacts that belonged to different Chilean cultures. We enjoy our dinner, then board our direct flight to Toronto.

Day 19: Home

We fly home with Air Canada.
