We arrive in Phoenix and depart for Flagstaff. This evening is our Welcome dinner.

Today we travel to Sedona, known for its magnificent red rock formations and quaint artists’ colony. We will ride a trolley and hear captivating stories about Native American history, mysterious energy vortexes, and filming Westerns.

Today, we visit the Grand Canyon, an unforgettable Natural Wonder of the World and one of the planet’s most remarkable, awe-inspiring landscapes.

We transfer to Phoenix and start with a tour that includes a drive through Phoenix and a walk in Old Town Scottsdale. Highlights include the Arizona State Capitol (with artifacts of the USS Arizona, flagship of the fleet sunk at Pearl Harbor), the beautiful Arizona State University campus, Camelback Mountain and more. We’ll enjoy a fun evening at the legendary Rustler’s Rooste, with a BBQ feast, live country and western music, guided line dancing, and spectacular views.

Wander the streets of Old Town Scottsdale or go shopping at Fashion Square, enjoy a round at Biltmore Golf & Country Club or venture into the nearby Superstition Mountains for a hike. Your Tour Manager will be on hand to assist you.

Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, we’ll take a boat ride on Canyon Lake, known for rock formations that resemble people and animals, and listen to tales and legends of the area. Later, we’ll stop in Goldfield, a ghost town on the historic Apache Trail.

Our day starts with a visit to the Desert Botanical Garden, where we’ll see the incredible diversity of plants of the Southwest. Then it’s off to the acclaimed Heard Museum to see the vibrant arts and cultures of the local indigenous people. Lunch is included at the famous Organ Grinder with its mighty Wurlitzer.

At this unique museum, you can see—and hear!—more than 10,000 instruments from all over the world.

Enroute to Tucson, we will stop to explore the Ancestral Sonoran Desert People’s community and Great House (known as the Casa Grande Ruins), whose origin and purpose remain unknown. We continue to our all-suite hotel in Tucson.

This full-day tour starts with a tram ride in the Sabino Canyon, then takes us to the Presidio San Agustin del Tucson, an 18th-century Spanish fort. We will stop at the Railroad Station where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday gunned down Frank Stilwell and the Hotel Congress where John Dillinger was captured. And we will end with a visit to the Mission San Xavier del Bac, the beautiful “White Dove of the Desert” built by Spanish Jesuits and now used as a spiritual centre by the Tohono Indians.

This guided culinary walking tour includes tastings at a variety of downtown eateries, with conversations with chefs and restaurant owners. A delicious way to experience a fascinating city!

Soak up the sun, swim, shop or explore Tucson on your own. You can visit Old Tucson Studios, the Pima Air and Space Museum, the Biosphere research facility, or Kitt Peak National Observatory, site of the first telescope. This evening, we will enjoy a show at the local theatre.

After a walking tour with a colourful local guide, we can watch a shootout reenactment with Wyatt Earp and the gang at the OK Corral or visit the famous Bird Cage Theatre, a former theatre, saloon, gambling parlour and brothel. We finish at the Boot Hill Graveyard, which is known for its witty epitaphs.

Today we visit the world-renowned museum that recreates the natural landscape of the Sonoran Desert, with over 300 animal species and 1,200 kinds of plants along two miles of scenic paths. Our Farewell dinner will be at Pinnacle Peak, a western-themed steakhouse with a vintage cowboy vibe.

We transfer to the airport and fly home.
