Our morning tour of Puebla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcases magnificent colonial buildings and the Chapel of the Rosary, world-renowned for its beauty. After lunch at a traditional local restaurant, we head to Oaxaca.

Today we explore Monte Alban, a fascinating mountaintop archaeological site dating back to 500 BC. In the afternoon, we’re off for a guided tour of Oaxaca’s historical centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its stunning architecture.

We start our day at Mitla, an ancient Mixtec ceremonial centre, followed by a tour of a mezcal distillery and lunch. Later, we visit Teotitlán del Valle, where a Zapotec family demonstrates traditional weaving techniques using natural dyes to create beautiful rugs.

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore, visit museums, or join your Tour Manager for a trip to the local market to sample fried grasshoppers!

Today we move on to Santo Domingo Tehuantepec, the second-largest city in the state of Oaxaca.

Enjoy a leisurely morning, perhaps visiting a quaint fishing village or a beautiful beach. In the afternoon, we will tour Santo Domingo Tehuantepec, including the Dominican Convent where Indigenous women craft traditional Tehuana dresses.

We embark on a boat ride through the stunning Sumidero Canyon, featuring deep, narrow passages with walls up to 1 km high. Our naturalist guide will help spot monkeys, crocodiles, and birds. Afterward, we proceed to San Cristobal de las Casas for a 4-night stay

In colonial times, this city was the most important one in the region. Our guided walking tour will include visits to the Cathedral, Santo Domingo church, and the picturesque streets of the historical centre.

Ecological Reserve and Orchids Garden. Today we visit Moxviquil Botanical Gardens, a place dedicated to the protection and conservation of the orchids and bromelias of the state. Enjoy a fascinating walk with an expert on the flora and fauna of the state.

Today we step back in time with visits to two captivating Tzotzil Mayan villages: Zinacantan and San Juan Chamula. In Zinacantan, we’ll visit a family of weavers who continue to use ancient backstrap looms, creating colourful clothing adorned with floral designs. In San Juan Chamula, we will learn about unique religious practices that intertwine Catholicism with Mayan beliefs.

This morning we leave the mountains and drive down to the capital of the State of Chiapas where we will overnight. Upon arrival to Tuxtla Gutierrez we will visit Zoomat, a wonderful zoo where we will see endemic fauna from Chiapas, a state with the highest concentration of animal species in North America. After our visit, we drive to our hotel to check in and have free time for lunch. This afternoon we will enjoy a tour of the city to include the main plaza, City Hall, the Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church and the Marimba Park where we will listen to the musical instrument from this state. You will be able watch the locals dance to the rhythm of the marimba or even join them. We drive back to the hotel for dinner.

After breakfast we transfer to the Tuxtla Gutierrez airport for the flight to Mexico City. We enjoy a farewell dinner tonight at the hotel.

We transfer to the airport for our flight home with Air Canada.
