Moderate pace with leisurely intermittent walks up to 2 hours on a variety of terrain, including cobblestones and moderate hills. Must be able to climb at least two flights of stairs, negotiate steps without railings and tolerate periods of standing during guided tours. Some days may include 3–5 km of walking over the course of the day.

This morning, we’ll take a half-day tour of the city, exploring the ruins of Old Panama, climbing the cathedral tower to see incredible city views, and visiting the Old Panama City Museum. We will also see the famous Casco Antiguo (old city), the Flat Arch, The Cathedral, Las Bovedas and the French Plaza. Welcome Dinner at our hotel in the evening.
Today we board the Pacific Queen and set sail to the Panama Canal. We’ll traverse the Miraflores Locks and tour Miraflores Lake, where we’ll enjoy a buffet lunch. Dinner will be at a local restaurant, where we’ll enjoy Panamanian cuisine and a traditional dance show.
This morning, we are off to Colón, where we will learn about the construction of one of the world’s most impressive engineering feats and enjoy a panoramic view of the locks. Then we’ll head to UNESCO World Heritage Site San Lorenzo, a Spanish bastion built to protect the river entrance to Las Cruces Trail. As we travel through the lush rainforest of San Lorenzo National Park, we have the chance to see monkeys, sloths, coatimundis, toucans, and more.
After a short flight, we head to the luxurious Valle Escondido Resort in Boquete—a beautiful valley at the foot of the Baru Volcano. We will stay for the next 3 nights, 4 nights with plenty of time to explore and relax in this lush setting.
Today we discover something Panama is particularly famous for: coffee! We will tour a local coffee plantation: as we wander through the picturesque fields, our guide will tell us the fascinating story of how our favourite pick-me-up gets from the coffee cherries picked by the Ngäbe-Buglé Indigenous People to our morning cups.
Day at leisure to enjoy our hotel’s extensive amenities: take a dip in the pool, get a massage at the spa, or play a round of golf at their challenging 9-hole executive course.

It’s time to head to our next destination, the lovely Hotel Swan’s Cay in Bocas del Toro on Isla Colón. The hotel is perfectly located, with the water, restaurants, shops and activities an easy walk away. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner in Bocas Town.
Today is all about beach time and bird watching. We will visit beautiful Bird Island, home to the red-billed tropicbird, the brown booby, the frigate and more. And even if you aren’t into birds, the island is worth a visit for the scenery alone. We will spend the rest of the day on Boca del Drago beach and Starfish Beach, where we can relax, swim, and snorkel in the calm, clear waters.
Day at leisure to explore Bocas Town, enjoy some time at a local beach—or even try your hand at surfing at nearby Isla Carenero, only a 2-minute water taxi ride away.
Today we fly to Panama City, where we will transfer to the Hotel Plaza Paitilla Inn and have the rest of the day free to do a little more exploring—or simply enjoy a final relaxing day by the pool. Tonight is our Farewell Dinner at the hotel.
We board our return flight to Toronto.
